Steel Building Insulation in Irmo, South Carolina
Steel Building Insulation provided the insulation and accessories needed to insulate a steel building in Irmo, South Carolina, in September 2022.
When installed, the roof and wall insulation make the 30’x40’x15’ metal building extremely energy-efficient, creating a comfortable interior environment ideal for use throughout the year. The high-performance roof and wall insulation systems also serve as barriers against condensation, helping the steel building maintain its structural integrity.
SBI supplied a high R-value, R-30 double-layer banded insulation system for the metal building’s roof, laying 6” of R-19 insulation with heavy-duty WMP-VRR+ facing over a 3.5” layer of R-11 unfaced insulation to achieve the high R-value. For installation into the walls, SBI delivered 6” of R-19 WMP-VRR+-faced insulation with a taped tab.
The client also purchased a variety of accessories that hold the insulation systems in place and streamline installation, including (1) 500’ coil of White steel banding, (250) White self-tapping Tek screws, (1) 150’ roll of patch tape and (3) 180’ rolls of double-faced tape.
