Steel Building Insulation in Utah
Steel Building Insulation, a division of Building Outlet Corp., has assisted Utah contractors, architects, and metal building owners with both new construction and insulation retrofit projects for more than 30 years. We provide top-quality, name-brand steel building insulation for a wide range of commercial structures, designed to keep Utah buildings cool during the summer, warm during the winter, and dry and condensation-free year-round.
Installing an insulation system at the time of construction is often the most economical method. In new construction projects, standard-width fiberglass insulation blankets are laminated with a vapor retarder (called a facing) of your choice, and then distributed over the roof purlins or wall girts before the installation of the roof or wall panels. Double-layer banding systems are often used in new construction, which offers higher R-values, and therefore, a higher level of effectiveness, in the roof.
Insulation retrofit projects involve applying insulation to an existing steel building. In insulation retrofit applications, fiberglass blankets are pre-cut to fit the existing spaces between your building’s purlins or girts, and then laminated with facing material and affixed with, generally, stick pins or InsulHold for wall insulation, or steel bands for metal roof insulation. Applying retrofit insulation to existing structures will result in significant thermal energy savings for Utah metal building owners over the lifetime of their building.
While most metal building owners insulate or reinsulate because of the substantial energy savings that result from doing so, installing a high-quality insulation system comes with a variety of additional benefits. Metal building insulation prevents costly condensation issues, improves lighting efficiency, and helps maintain noise and interior temperature control, resulting in an overall more comfortable, efficient, and pleasant interior environment.
Our insulation panels and insulation blankets are crafted from highly-resilient fiberglass are available with a variety of facing options, and offer high R-values that offer substantial resistance to heat transfer, resulting in lower utility costs from the time of installation. Facings are available in both white vinyl and polypropylene, and range from light-duty, low-cost WMP-VR to extremely heavy-duty, high-impact GYMGUARD materials. Our insulation rolls are available in 3’, 4’, 5 and 6’ standard-width roll sizes, and can be delivered to virtually any accessible building site. Our products are professionally color-coded, pre-cut rolls intended to simplify the installation process.
While Arizona does not currently have any statewide energy codes for commercial structures, our metal building insulation product line adheres to the standards set by the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), and is fire-resistant and non-combustible.
