Steel Building Insulation Supplied in Dundalk, Maryland
Our company supplied the steel building insulation for this pair of pre-engineered metal buildings in Dundalk, Maryland, in September of 2020.
We supplied the roof and wall insulation systems for the metal buildings. The high R-value insulation system dramatically improves thermal performance in the metal buildings, which stand 210’9”x165’5”x32’6” and 210’9”x16’7”x20’, respectively. The first metal building has an insulated single-slope roof with a 0.5:12 pitch, and the second, an insulated gable roof with a 1:12 pitch.
Inside the roofs of both steel buildings are R-35 insulation systems with liner panels, with the liner panels acting as continuous vapor retarders that protect the insulation blankets and help prevent condensation from forming. The buildings have 8” of unfaced fiberglass insulation between the roof purlins and 3” of unfaced fiberglass insulation above the purlins.
Installed within the walls of both metal buildings are R-26 insulation systems with liner panels, with 4” of fiberglass blankets installed between the girts and 4” of unfaced fiberglass insulation between the girts and sheeting. In addition to supplying the insulation blankets, themselves, Steel Building Insulation also provided the liner panel fabric, InsulHold coils, steel banding and screws used during installation.
