Steel Building Insulation in Iowa
Thermal energy loss is one of the single largest drains of a steel building owner’s budget. To make the cost of ownership more manageable, many Iowa metal building owners and businesses have opted to re-insulate their structures with retrofit insulation, resulting in drastically reduced energy costs and a multitude of savings throughout the lifetime of the building.
Steel Building Insulation, a division of Building Outlet Corp., has provided retrofit insulation and related products and accessories to Iowa consumers for more than 30 years. In fact, more than 50 percent of the vinyl-faced fiberglass insulation distributed nationally is now used for metal building retrofit applications. We offer a wide variety of insulation blankets, facings, tabs and accessories that can assist with your metal building insulation retrofit process, whether your commercial structure is a gym, aircraft hangar, storage facility or any type of metal building.
Our insulation rolls are available in moderate to high R-values to meet the specific needs of your building. Our insulation facings are available in either black or white polypropylene, and while the most common facing is WMP-VR-R, we offer numerous upgrades that provide varying levels of increased durability and strength. Tabs, the extension of the vinyl facing beyond the fiber glass blanket, are generally 3″ thick on both sides when used for retrofit, and either tucked up alongside of the fiberglass as a trim or used to cover the bottom of the purlin.
Steel Building Insulation also provides products and accessories to aid you with both roof and wall installations. Stick pins can be used to hang the insulation blankets, offering a quilted appearance, and InsulHold can be used to keep insulation in place and eliminate sagging. Facings are available in both white vinyl and polypropylene, and range from light-duty, low-cost WMP-VR to the extremely heavy-duty, high impact GYMGUARD materials. Our insulation rolls are are available in 3’, 4’, 5 and 6’ standard-width roll sizes, and can be delivered to virtually any accessible building site. Our products are professionally color-coded, pre-cut rolls intended to simplify the installation process.
While Arizona does not currently have any statewide energy codes for commercial structures, our metal building insulation product line adheres to the standards set by the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), and are fire-resistant and non-combustible.
